When Is Yellow Frog Tape The Better Choice?

Yellow Frog Tape is a delicate surface painter's tape with a lower adhesion level. It is specifically designed for more sensitive finishes, including fresh paint and freshly painted surfaces that are dry to the touch.

How Does Frog Tape Help Prevent Paint Bleed?

Frog Tape is treated with PaintBlock Technology. The treatment reacts with the water in emulsion paint and instantly gels to form a micro barrier along the edge. This seals the tape edge and helps stop wet paint creeping underneath, giving cleaner lines when the tape comes away.

However, preparation still matters. Make sure the surface is clean and dry, apply the tape without stretching it and press the paint-facing edge down firmly before you start.

When Should You Remove Frog Tape?

For sharp results, Frog Tape recommends removing the tape slowly at around a 45-degree angle while the paint is still wet. If paint has dried across the edge, score the line carefully before removal to reduce the chance of tearing or lifting the finish.

Green Multi-Surface and Yellow Delicate Surface tape have different clean-removal periods, and direct sunlight can change the length of time required. Check the individual product instructions if the tape will stay in place for a long time.
