Indasa Abrasives
Indasa is a world-renowned manufacturer of high-performance abrasives, trusted by decorators, painters, and trade professionals across the UK and Europe. Their products are designed for efficient surface preparation, long-lasting performance, and consistent results, making Indasa a favourite for both trade and DIY projects.
At Haverhill Paint Supplies, we stock a wide range of Indasa abrasives, including Sanding Sheets, Rolls and Sanding Pads. These products are suitable for preparing a variety of surfaces, including wood, plaster and painted finishes, helping decorators achieve smooth, professional surfaces ready for painting or finishing.
What does the grit ie P120, number on abrasives mean?
Indasa abrasives use a numbered grit system to indicate the coarseness or fineness of the sandpaper or sanding disc. The higher the grit number, the finer the abrasive, which means it will remove less material and produce a smoother finish.
- Low grit numbers (e.g., 40ā80): Coarse abrasives for heavy material removal, shaping surfaces, or sanding rough wood and plaster.
- Medium grit numbers (e.g., 100ā180): Ideal for general surface preparation, smoothing walls or wood before finishing.
- High grit numbers (e.g., 220+): Fine abrasives for final finishing, sanding between coats of paint, varnish, or lacquer to achieve a smooth, professional surface.
Choosing the correct grit number is essential for achieving the desired finish without damaging the surface. Using a coarse grit first and gradually moving to finer grits is the recommended approach for both trade and DIY projects.
